I would like to change the caption displayed for the comment box in single choice list with comment
question.

By default it shows, 'Please enter your comment here'.

I would like to know how to change this text?

Maybe you can use a jQuery development snippet that changes it on document ready?
After you familiar with jQuery?

Another alternative would be to switch the question type to multiple choice with comments set with maximum and minimum answers set to 1, allowing "other" answer, with comments and setting the comment as mandatory. This question type has config setting for the "other" label.
