I am using Lime system on premise (installed on our local server). However the problem existing in the online platform too: limesurvey.org When I am uploading Hebrew file name, the file name cut and I can see the extension with the dot only (no problem with English and numbers).

For example below:

Somebody familiar with the bug?

Thanks

Hi,
a solution:
As you see the file is uploaded correctly, but the filename is removed - only a dot and the extension.

But you can download the file.
You will get a zip-file like "Files_for_survey_318473_response_2.zip"
If you unzip you get a file called "00002_01_png" (response of answer ID 2, first file of this response)
Now you change the underscore to a dot to get "00002_01.png"

Meaning: Nothing is lost.

Anyway you should file a bug report.

Dear Joffm,
Thanks for your prompt reply.
I will report a bug.
Hopefully, it will fix quickly, since we have few forms in production.
Regarding your reply, I am not getting a zip-file. When I pressing on the link of file name (missing the file name) from the responses menu, the file download. I need to open the folder and to rename the file with name.
Obviously, I can do it, but it's not suitable to students and of course not convenient if we have many files in form and many responses.
Yes, the file exist and nothing is lost.

Yes, but this is not the best way.
Select all responses and "download files" from the menu.

But to be honest - in my opinion the filename is really irrelevant.
The name of the file depends on the participant. You will get a bunch of filenames without any structure.
It is more important to be able to merge the file with a respondent. And this is best done by merging by SAVEDID.
As said - my opinion.

Dear Joffm,
Zip file is not an option.
The examiner open each response and need to see the files on each.
The best way is your advice, if you can specify how to merge a field from the survey (for example ID of the respondent) to the file name
I am appreciating your feedback and help
All the best
Michael
