I'm trying to upload a video in a survey, but the upload function doesn't work. After a few seconds I get a popup message saying it didn't work but nothing more.

I can reproduce this.
But I do not know if it is a desired behaviour and there is something in our installations that prevent the upload.
Or a bug.

But, honestly, I never used this option "Upload" before.

I usually "Browse server" here
 
  
and then upload my file/s

So both do not work in your installation?

If you don't want to wait for a solution:
As you have LimeSurvey installed on your own server you still have the option to upload the files with a ftp client like Filezilla.
This way you are free to choose a directory outside the LimeSurvey installation
You see, in my production installation I usually put my images/videos into a directory "LSfiles".

You might open a bugreport. I recommend to check, if the files are not uploaded or if the uploaded files are not shown in the file browser. Both kind of bugs are possible since you got no error message.

Did you set correct directory permissions?
