i'm interested in extending the system with completely new question types, not fully comprehending how the application works since i'm a newbie, is quite a challenge to grasp how.

right now how the current question types are implemented? any tips of what should i do to add new ones? 

i think is a complex task, since is touches many aspect of the system, like the survey editor, the rendering of the question type, the collection of data, storage of that data, export of data, and so on, and i'm a bit lost on how i should do this, and personally i would think that extending the questions types on a survey framework is quite a nice thing to be able to do.
