Predefined Answer in Matrix Questions was created by hsvsuper1
Good morning,
I would like to set up a matrix question, where one answer ("none") is already automatically ticked when the question arises, without any user input. As there are quite a lot matrix items and "none" will be the most frequent answer, this would rise user comfort and lower the probability, that users do not tick any option. I've found this setting in other question types, is it also available in matrix questions?
Thanks!
Johannes

Hi,
Then this behaviour is the default.
If you want to change the text of "no answer", set the setting in "Presentation / Show "No answer" to "OFF".
Now - and in a mandatory question - you have to add your own answer option "None"
Create a question of type "equation" before your array and set the subquestions to the desired value.
{Q1_SQ001=6}
{Q1_SQ002=6}
{Q1_SQ003=6}
with
SQ001,... : subquestion codes
6: answer option code of your "none"
Joffm
By the way: Well, this is an offer to the participants not to click anything but proceed quickly without reading anything.
Does this mean your question is not mandatory?and lower the probability, that users do not tick any option

Hi Joffm,
thanks for your response and help. Its possible to make the question mandatory, although not necessary for our study, and also not an issue, that they would just scroll past, but lets move on from that:
I'm afraid I do not have any experience with the question type "equation". How do I connect this question to the next one with my matrix? I understand the meaning of the equation and how it is set up, but in which field do I enter this information? ({Q1_SQ001=6}). In the relevance equation? somewhere else?
I've tried a lot, nothing works, I'm sorry I'm so confused...
Usually, I would hide the equation question afterwards, right?

Do you not need a check to see that the sub-question is not already answered?Create a question of type "equation" before your array and set the subquestions to the desired value.
Code:
{Q1_SQ001 = if(is_empty(Q1_SQ001), 6, Q1_SQ001)}

I thought it was obvious that "Q1" is the Code of the array question.
@Tony
Usually I do not allow to go back in a survey.

I admit I miss this most of the time.Do you not need a check to see that the sub-question is not already answered?

I still do not understand how to set up the "equation" question and where to enter the predefined information for the subquestions of my matrix.
Sorry for the confusion, I would be very happy about clarification
