How to save a survey response in to attribute of participant table?

Hello,

I'm using lime survey Version 2.52+160920. I set a survey for to save a user profile information and some another questions.

I added a "Gender" attribute (not mandatory) in participant table and also add Gender type question in the survey.

If I don't know a gender of my participant then I will skip to add a gender value in the participant table.

As I added same gender question in Survey then how can it be possible to add this question response in to my participant table. Is there any hint for to solve query?
