IP address tracking was created by JanelG
Please help us help you and fill where relevant:
Your LimeSurvey version: 6.3.6
Own server or LimeSurvey hosting: own server
Survey theme/template: Custom - Extended Fruite_twentythree
==================
Since we have upgraded to the new version, our surveys are no longer gathering IP address information.

I have the survey settings set as:

Save IP Address: Yes
Anonymize IP Address: No

Is there a setting or a step I am missing in Global settings?

Thank you.

Since we have upgraded to the new version,

I assume this means from LS3 or LS5 to LS6, not from LS6.x to LS6.3.6, correct?

Just tested with my LS 6.3.0 and it is just working fine. So if this is a bug, it must have been introduced in the last couple of updates.

Check in the settings "Global Survey" under "Notifications and data" the settings about "save IP address".

"Anonymize IP address" should be no issue, because this should save at least a partial IP address if you allow to record the IP address. But from what I understand it doesn't save anything in the field for the "IP address" in the response table, correct?

Also: is the IP address field present in the response table, but empty, or is it not even there as a column?

Thanks for reaching out Holch.

Correct, we upgraded from LS3 to LS6.3.6.

Oddly enough we don't have that option under out "Global Survey" settings. (See attached)

Yes, the "IP address" field in the response table is present but empty.

Hi,

Yes I am able to see those settings in the individual surveys, but not in the "Global Survey Settings"

Within the survey itself I have the settings as follows:

Save IP Address: "Yes"
Anonymize IP Address: "No"

Even with these settings, the IP is not being saves in the response table.

Odd. I am the owner of the account and do not have access.

None of my team members who are allowed full access can see these options either.

I am able to make changes within individual surveys, but even with the setting turned on it is not tracking.

There was no issue with this feature until this update.

This is weird, you are missing the whole navigations structure in the left column.

Do you have a custom/modified admin theme? If so, what happens if you switch to the standard admin theme?

Just updated from LS 6.3.0 to LS 6.3.7 and still everything normal. Unfortunately I couldn't test with your version LS 6.3.6, as the recent one is LS 6.3.7, offered by comfort update.

Which leads me to the question: How did you update? Manually or via Comfort Update?

What happens when you update to LS 6.3.7?

6.3.6.
Nothing unusual here.
Everything as expected.

I believe the update was manual.

I was able to access the global survey settings by resetting and reconfiguring the survey menus.

I went ahead and updated the "Global Survey Settings" to track IPs and not anonymize IPs. However my surveys are still not gathering IP information.
