easiest way is to use comfortUpdate.
You'll need a key for that, you'll find it in your limesurvey.org profile in the tab "comfortUpdate key"

as LuisGac said, for unexperienced users the comfortUpdate is the best way.

But of course there is a tutorial to update manually:

It seems that LimeSurvey is so, so good that it's just for SUPER professionals.

Maybe you know about a survey software that can be used with Wordpress which has Likert questions and can be used by humans?

I checked on the community.

I wanted to send you a video and then I saw on the bottom of the page (after other support options that now are not shown) an option to get the key.
Fortunately I found it and I get the key!

Regarding my frustration - Imagine - As a teacher I used things like AriQuiz (as I told you) and I created tests for my students in 3 to 4 minutes!

Now even Dr. Marcel needed 2 ours!! to create a demo test on LimeSurvey.
If he needed 2 ours to create a sample test, imagine how many days it will take me?

I really like LimeSurvey, it's extremely powerful and beautiful, but I think that it's too professional, it lacks video tutorials and simplicity in everything.

I believe that after I will learn to use LimeSurvey, I will post MANY videos explaining how to use it because it's an excellent survey application and I believe that this will help more users to use it.

Ej. If it's written "ComfortUpdate Keys" why not to put this issue under the "ComfortUpdate Keys" instead of many support options, etc and only at the end of the page it's possible to find the ComfortUpdate key...

It's something that the people at LimeSurvey could use - Think of the clients and be simple.

I have my doubts that "Dr. Marcel" needed 2 hours to create a "simple" example. He might have put it up after two hours, but this doesn't mean it took him 2h to create it. If it took him 2 hours to create it, I am quite sure that it was not just a "simple" example.

Limesurvey is for sure not the simplest of all softwares. But this is life. If you go for for a more advanced solution, this usually requires more time to learn how things work. So you might need to invest some time to understand Limesurvey and its functionalities, but I think it is well worth it. I don't know AriQuiz, what it does and how it works. But I assume it is very focused on a specific task: Creating Quizes. So if you are only into quizes, a solution that is purely focused on quizes is most probably easier to use for creating quizes, than a software like Limesurvey, that is create for doing surveys.

I think that you are right and that is also a reason I want to use LimeSurvey.
I really try to learn, I saw almost all the relevant videos on Youtube and read a lot of the manual.

I just noted that for me LimeSurvey is a bit complicated.
For example - I tried to see how to change the admin password.
2 days reading post on the forum and searching in Google.

Resetting Joomla or Wordpress password for Admin user taked 20 sec.
Here - I don't know how to do it.

It's not a complain, it's just a notification that (for me) LimeSurvey is for highly professionals.

It's excellent and it means that I need to learn and learn and learn and maybe I could use it.

well, where did you expect to change the admin password.
Because only the admin himself can change it, you have to be logged in as admin.

And hoping you log out correctly - not just closing the window - you see

Click on "Your account" and "second click"


And here the three click solution.
"Configuration" / "Manage survey administrators" / Click on the pencil icon

So, do not tell us this is not user friendly and easiest to find.

I think you are in the clear case when using a previous LS version may have more pros than cons.
You will face an admin interface probably more intuitive (using bigs icons) for beginners and not tech savvy users...even if you are not in this category if you're able to use joomla (and probably moodle). One of the great advantage is that a lot of online resources available (manual, screenshots, video tutorial, etc...) are made under this interface.

If you have installed your 2.5x version in a folder (yourdomain/yourlimesurveyfolder ) you can make a very quick try just uploading your 2nd installation (old version) at the same level (yourdomain/yourlimesurveynewfolder ) and copying your 2.5x config.php file to your 2.6 installation:
=> yourdomain/yourlimesurveynewfolder/application/config/config.php

Like this you will have both installations sharing the same database... and working like a charm; You will be able to make your mind and go on with one version or the other one... or maybe both !
