Export, to save settings or not was created by Jmantysalo
When exporting a survey to queXML PDF the options are saved and there is a Reset now -button (which does not work in Firefox because of broken html). When exporting responses the options are not saved.

Is this an intentional design decision? If not, should we make one?

Please report the bug :) . In case you wish to make a PR, report the bug first, and then the PR as a comment ^^ . Thanks for spotting such issues.

OK, it has not been an intentional decision. But I can not make a bug report until I know which one is the bug, and which is the desired behaviour. That's what we should discuss, or you shoud decide.

Maybe I was not clear enought. If we forget the bug, then we still have an highly illogical (IMO) behaviour where two different exports have different functionality.

Sorry, too less sleep or something. So...

Take a LS 4 installation. Log in as survey administrator. Go to the main admin page of any survey. Press Display/Export. Click queXML PDF export. Press Export. Now you are in a page that contains "Reset now" -button. That button is needed, as the system remembers choices you make when exporting the survey.

Now activate the survey and make a response to it. Click Responses. Press Export / Export responses. Now you are in a page that does not remember choices and hence has no "Reset now" -button.

Now the question is: Do we want choices to be remembered or not?

My opinion : it's great to have it saved survey by survey with a new button, and a "save as default" system etc … ;)

Seem saved in session, start a survey reset the session somewhere …

> Now activate the survey and make a response to it. Click Responses. Press Export / Export responses. Now you are in a page that does not remember choices and hence has no "Reset now" -button.

It's not the same export : not saved in session or elsewhere.

In 1.92 i do a javascript solution on a hacjed LS version to save selected question, and allow to select again via a textearea …
Need to redo the system on a cean plugin

But exporting Responses is totally different to exporting to QueXML. QueXML is a format of exporting the questionnaire structure, while responses exports the results of a survey. I am a little confused right now.

I answer at the LimeSurvey forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.

Yeah, they are different things. But does that mean that the functionality for doing that should be different? I mean, why you would want QueXML export to save options you selected for exporting, but not want the same for exporting responses?

Currently : QueXML have a lot of options, then one dev at a time introduce a way to save in session.

There are no clear decision about such solution : adding a way to save some specific options by user and/or by survey.

OK. Then I will look if I can make a PR for bugs.limesurvey.org/view.php?id=16220 so that the resulting html would be valid. If that is not possible, we need testers for different browsers.
