So just started using the LS5 and need to display images - discovered the image select (radio) option on the question templates.   Been through the forum and discovered that with this type you just enter the path to the file.   
I have uploaded both a png and jpg version for testing but cannot get this to display.

Any ideas why this is?

What you have suggested is how we used to do this with a normal radio list adding in the <img src="#####"> </img>  so we could add text around this.
What I am trying to do is not have the radio buttons just the image being selected with a border around it as per the post above.

This is what I thought the "New"  Image-select (radio) Question type was about.   am I wrong?

 

In the Image-select (radio) question theme, you only need to enter the path to the image. The <img> tag is generated in answer_row.twig.

It works for me.

Try an absolute path to the image.

Yes, I thought so.
But as you see, I used an absolute path and it shows the absolute path, nothing else.

On the other side, this display of the "image-select" type seems to be different from the one in Version 3.x.

Now the radio button resp. the checkbox is still displayed.
See the example of @Dezember in the other thread. There is also the <img> tag.
Like this (first subquestion only path, what doesn' work). Tested in 5.4.7. Cloud edition.

And your script to enlarge the border and replace the checkbox.
 
But as I do not use this question type frequently, I may miss something.

I am really confused. I was not aware there was an image select question type in V3 - currently using 3.28 (migrating to V5)

Im using the specific question type of image select (radio) I am putting the absolute path ie /upload/surveys/98765/images/Picture1.jpg

I have created a simple survey (just one question) with the images on the cloud will PM you the url, username and password. You will see what im doing.

I have a big warning about image select : this questiontheme are totally inaccessible.
If you work for government for example : you must have a alt to each image.

In this case : best solution is usage of radio with img tag.

I am putting the absolute path ie /upload/surveys/98765/images/Picture1.jpg

That looks like a relative path to me.

Im starting to realise that the Image Select Q type is not all its cracked upto be. Conceptually it a really good idea for anyone with limited or no JS skills. but as it is now its more confusing than just a radio button with the <img> tags in.

Its not really a bug - so loathed to add it to bug track - but maybe as a feature enhancement.

Instead of a text box, what it really needs is 3 items for each row added.
1. an image select button (can even use the default image select in the system now)
2. a text box for ALT
3. a text box for Title

Or actually just the first one as the other two could be picked up in the image select button.

What do you think, would this be feasible?

It should be easy enough to copy the question theme and include the alt attribute - maybe split the answer text with a pipe character.

The idea of Tony seems to be a really good idea pipe used for extra attribute.

this is from the cloud version - obviously i do not know the full path to the file from the root. But i have tried the same on our own server with the full path from the root of the file system and the full path from httpdocs and get exactly the same results.

This should never be so complicated. A simple select box to add the image would make this usable by anyone. No?
