I'm using Comfort Update and getting this error::

Request Entity Too Large
The requested resource
/survey/index.php/admin/update/sa/backup
does not allow request data with POST requests, or the amount of data provided in the request exceeds the capacity limit.

Any ideas

Can be caused by different things.
One source can be the webserver.
You might use Apache and hit a limit when the backup is generated.
httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/mod/core.html#limitrequestbody
Can you look up the logfiles of apache? Or can you ask the administrator, if that is no you?

Sometimes it is just the buggy comfortupdater. What version and build of Limesurvey are you using?

that can happen when the zip containing the update is a big file exceeding maximum values in php.ini, ie: when you update from an old 2.06 version to the latest 2.5.

Thank you...yes I double checked and I have the old 2.06 so I guess I should export my surveys out and do a fresh install of the latest and then try from there.

Or increase the maximum values in php.ini (max execution time, max memory, etc).

I answer at the LimeSurvey forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.
