I know this is crazy. But can we send a text message (sms) to a mobile phone through limesurvey 2.05+ (with latest updates)?? If we can do this, we would be able to tell the respondents to check their spam box too. Or remind them.

Sorry, that's not available in LimeSurvey.

For this you would need a external program/service that can be triggered. But Limesurvey does not offer this.

So Denis, are you suggesting a plugin would need to be created, or could existing LS API functionality make it work (forgive my developer naivate).

I'm trying to wrap my head around the workflow of using SMS to invite (or most likely confirm) participation in a research study.

LimeSurvey have all to replace email token send. After you must do the PHP script to call other service API, before using default LimeSUrvey system.

I developed a Plugin to send SMS Invitations/reminders to mobiles found here ( github.com/MZeit/SendSMSInvites ) if anyone wants to use it. Some changes might be necessary to adapt to SMS Gateway of your choice.

I'm testing your plugin here, I'm having difficulty setting up the gateway, you could help me, I already have the active gateway account, where I put the credentials and the numbers that I'll be sending to test.

@apoioti: The credentials are saved in the pluginConfig.php file, depending on the gateway of your choice, the authentication method for your account can be a username & password, OAuth key or an API key. Some changes in line 116 might be needed accordingly. Read the documentation of the Gateway HTTP request to ensure compatibility.

Mira, which SMS gateway did you use?
