Using sliders in LimeSurvey??? was created by Enric
Hi,
I'm newbie at LimeSurvey and I've read in this forum that you can use a slider (in the style of this: badassdatascience.com/badassdatascience/...11/slider_image2.png ) as the Question Type. Nevertheless, I can't seem to find this option when I use the dropdown list. I'm using v1.92+.

Can a slider be used out-of-the-box or is it only accessible thru mingling with the source code?

Thanks

Sliders can be used with the multiple numeric input question type - docs.limesurvey.org/Question+type+-+Mult...tions+for+LimeSurvey

Woow!... that's quick!.. Thanks for such a quick response.

I chose the Multiple Numeric type but initially I was being requested to input 'subquestions'. But I discovered later on that under the Advanced Settings beneath the question there's then an option to activate the slider. Many thanks tpartner!.

But how did you actually do it? I need exactly the same "layout" as yours but it doesn't work. I guess that I got something wrong with the "Subquestion text¦Left slider label¦Right slider label" thing.

Did you set a "Slider left/right text separator" - manual.limesurvey.org/Question_type_-_Mu...8slider_separator.29 ?

In fact, I don't understand these instructions. Could you give me a concrete example how to fill in this box? Maybe with the male/female example from above?

Place a "pipe" character in the Slider left/right text separator field:

In the sub-question fields, separate your sub-question text, left text and right text with that character:

Whenever I see the way that feature was implemented I ask myself if we can't just have a "Show left/right scale details" and if set we add two additional field on sub-question level to enter these details.
The current solution is pretty difficult to use. Maybe worth filing a feature request for LS 3...

I am having troubles with the slider labels. I followed the instruction in the manual and the labels are showing on each side of the slider, but they will also show up ugly on the subquestion title like this:

xxx | slider label 1 | slider label 2

I can't find a way to hide the title and just keep the slider labels. Can someone help me?

Thank you!
