In certain situations, I need to display the IP address to the visitors, {ipaddr.shown}, but it doesn't work. Currently, I'm using a API, but it sometimes fails to retrieve the information.

Does anyone have a good method?

What is this supposed to be? This would show the text of the answer option chosen by a respondent from a single choice question with the ID "ipaddr". As long as you don't have a question with the ID "ipaddr" nothing will happen. And then also, if there would be a question were the IP address is stored it would most probably not be a single choice question, but rather a text question, right?

So please explain what you are doing exactly. Where do you store the IP address? How do you collect and store it?

I think surveySn is referring to the IP address collected via the Notification and data management settings. This is not available from within a survey.

Oh, this could of course be the case. And yes, this is not accessible. And even if it was, surely not with .shown

You can activate a plugin for this : www.limesurvey.org/manual/ExpressionFixedDbVar
{IPADDR} can be used

Sorry to revive this old thread.

I am trying to use IPADDR but nothing seams to work.

I try versions 5 and 6 the plugin is active, with IPADDR active. The survey is recording the IP ( I can see it in responses. But can't use IPADDR in equation field or in context script.

Can You help pls?

I can confirm that {IPADDR} and {ipaddr} both just show up as "IPADDR" or "ipaddr" when used within the survey.

Unfortunately we can't see what you are trying to show us, Joffm. At the moment it looks like you get literally nothing.

Looks good. this is weird. Will have to try to test again.

I updated to 6.15.22+251103 and tested with a new survey and it still just gives me IPADDR as words. The plugin is activated.
