Please help us help you and fill where relevant:
Your LimeSurvey version:  Version 3.25.6+201229
Own server or LimeSurvey hosting: own
Survey theme/template: Vanilla
==================
Hello,
I have (like all of you) 3 kind of participants:
  1. Those who completed the survey
  2. Those who accessed the survey and replied partially but not completed
  3. Those who did not even access the survey
My problem is that I need to send a separate message to group 2 and group 3 (ie: partially, and not accessed).
My question: Is there a way to filter only the participants who did not answer to any question? (see the image below; red circles)

I think you can sort people by "last page", this should give you a good idea who has accessed and who hasn't.

Help us to help you!
  • Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
  • Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).

What do you mean by "last page"? the filters I get are the ones I set at the beginning (with attributes)

Hmmm, I just noticed, that this column only exists in the response table, not in the participant table. So it won't be of much help, when filtering respondents to send emails to.

I think you are talking about the results page. This however doesn't give me the possibility to select these participants to send a specific reminder email.

Hmmm, this would be a good feature, to have either the column "last page" also in the participant table or something in the column "Completed?" that indicates the progress if not completed yet.

The only solution I can see at the moment is to filter the responde table for those that have started and not completed and then identify via de access code those in the participant table who have not completed, but have started already.

I guess, I also have more than 1k participants so it will be a bit too long :/. Also it seems that I can't batch search multiple users via name "John OR Peter OR Sandra" or Token, that would have helped a lot :/

These are the people who usually get a reminder, or?
So, you may change the text of the reminder message and send this.

Or did I misunderstand?

@Joffm: From what I understand, everyone who did not complete gets a reminder. However, OP wants obviously have a distinction between those that did not even click the link and those that started the survey but didn't finish it.

So I understand that there are currently 3 different profiles of people in the participant table:

1: Completed - those that have finished the survey - no action needed
2: Not completed - should receive an email
2a: Did not start the survey - need to receive an Email "You did not start the survey, go, do it! NOW!"
2b: Did start the survey but did not finish - need to receive an Email "We have seen that you started the survey but didn't finish it yet. Please open the link again and start from where you left off to finish this survey. Do it! NOW!"

Hey Joffm, actually I meant having a message from group 2 different from group 3.
Group 3 get access reminderGroup 2 get please you are not done yet (or something more pleasant)
the question is about the filter selection (select only those who partially responded OR those who did not access at all so they get a different email reminder

Yes, this is something different.

Try to export both tables to Excel, create a macro that selects the two groups.
Now you have two lists with the participants id both in ascending order.
If you display 500 participants on one page you can easy and quick select the participants and send the mails

On the other side: What for?

Write a polite reminder and add something special for the people who didn't start yet "If you were too busy to answer the questionnaire, please, bla bla bla"
and something else for the people who started but did not submit like "If you already started, but did not submit, we ask you to do so. Each response is really important for us, bla bla bla.."

Thanks @Joffm, the 2nd option is not possible with my current survey and participants
The 1st one is still tidy but I guess, it's the only option. Thanks
I will submit a feature request because I think this is something quite useful.
