Previously I was able to use the code {ipaddress.shown} to retrieve the ip address of users who take our surveys. Now after upgrading to limesurvey  Version 5.2.7+211221  the code does not work. Am I missing something in the code?

Try the variable of the saved IP address, which is "ipaddr".

Is the IP address saved in the response set?
Perhaps the IP-adress is suppressed be privacy settings.
I'm not aware of a direct ExpressionScript function to display the IP-address.

I have never seen the {ipaddress.shown} placeholder. It looks like a reference to a question the may be loaded via a script.

I think you can activate www.limesurvey.org/manual/ExpressionFixedDbVar plugin to get it without another quetsion.

Like @tpartner write : {ipaddress.shown} never exist without extra question and JS system.
