Dear Participant,
You are receiving this email since you previously indicated your interest in the study on developing the ‘best practices’ toolkit for Alberta schools to promote active and healthy living during alternate learning. Our team, comprising researchers from Unity Health Toronto and University of Alberta, as well as our partners in APPLE Schools and Alberta Health Services, are interested to know what you think about health promotion practices that can be implemented in schools during periods of alternate learning (e.g., during the COVID-19 pandemic-related lockdowns, adverse weather conditions that prevent in-school learning, among other reasons) (University of Alberta Research Ethics Board # Pro00116820). Your responses will help us create a toolkit of innovative, evidence-based and easy to implement health promotion practices that will equip school communities across Alberta with strategies on maintaining active and healthy lifestyles in children and their families as we are emerging from the pandemic.

Your participation in this study will include 3 survey rounds. Before filling out the first survey, you will be asked to read and sign an electronic informed consent form that has detailed information about the study and answer a few demographic questions. After the first survey round, you will be asked to complete two more survey rounds. Each survey round will take no more than 30 minutes of your time.
What will you get from participation in the study? After completing the first round of the survey, you will receive a $30 gift card at the end of the study. If you choose to participate in the first two rounds, you will receive a $60 gift card, and a $90 electronic gift card if you participate in all three rounds of the survey. Electronic gift cards will be distributed after the end of the survey.
