Important: We are looking for people who have a job or want a job to do this study.

This study is about the kind of things that make jobs more appealing, in particular for disabled people. You'll be asked to make a series of choices between two different, fictional jobs that vary each time. This study is run by The Inclusivity Project, a University of Exeter research project funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
Please take time to consider the information carefully and to discuss it with family or friends if you wish, or to ask the researcher questions.
The Study
Disabled people face many barriers to employment that result in a significantly lower employment rate. In this research, we are looking to explore the aspects of jobs that are most important for disabled people. This way we can give guidance to employers on how to create job roles that are more inclusive.
Why we are asking you to participate:
This study is about people's preferences for different kinds of jobs. As such, we are looking for people who are either currently working, have previously been working or are looking for work. Beyond this, we are also looking in particular for disabled people to take part as disabled people are the primary focus of this research.
What will happen afterwards:
The results will be used to inform an academic publication about how to design jobs that are more inclusive of disabled people that will be submitted for peer-review and publication at a reputable academic journal. As part of this process, the results will also be presented at relevant conferences. Information on the outcomes of the research will be shared via The Inclusivity Project website in due course.
Taking Part:
The study consists of two parts.
In Part 1, you will first be asked to complete a short questionnaire asking questions about demographics and experiences of work (this will take 5-10mins).
In Part 2, you will then be presented with a series of two fictional jobs that vary according to a number of factors that are explained to you in advance. You will be asked to state for each pair of fictional jobs which job you prefer. You also have the option to say you prefer your current situation to both of the fictional jobs presented (this will take approximately 15-20mins).
The study will therefore take approximately 20-30 minutes. Your responses to both stages of the study will be recorded to a spreadsheet. Only your responses and no other identifying information will be recorded – the study is completely anonymous.
Benefits of taking part:
The study will be used to inform policy makers and the business community about the kind of job aspects that are most important, particularly for disabled people. This research will therefore give guidance on how to create workplaces that are more inclusive.

We do not believe there are any possible risks associated with participation in this research.

You can stop taking part in the study at any time and you will not be expected to give a reason. Since we do not collect any personally identifying information during the study, it will not be possible for you to withdraw your data after completing the study. You can stop at any point prior to completing the study and all incomplete responses will be destroyed.
Data
The University of Exeter processes personal data for the purposes of carrying out research in the public interest. The University will endeavour to be transparent about its processing of your personal data and this information sheet should provide a clear explanation of this. All the responses to the study are anonymous and no personal identifying information is recorded. The data will be stored on the LimeSurvey server for the duration of the study after which it will be stored securely by a member of the research team.
