Among the three things listed together, please indicate which two of the three are most closely related.

A deduction has been imposed by the experimenter for allocating tokens into your individual account. Placing any tokens into your private account leads to a deduction of 4 tokens into the final group account amount.

Specifically, you must decide on the number of tokens that you put in the group account. The remaining tokens are automatically placed in your individual account. You can put any whole number of tokens between 0 and 20 into the account.

Afterward, you will indicate what you expect the other two group members contributed to the group account not including your contribution. This has to be a whole number no greater than 40.

Individual account

Each token placed in your individual account earns you 1 token. And so, if for example, you put six tokens in your individual account, this will earn you 6 tokens. Your individual account only earns tokens for you alone.

The collective account

The collective account is shared by all members of your group. Each token placed in the collective account earns 0.5 tokens to each member of the group. Thus, if for example, you put 6 tokens in the collective account, this will earn 3 tokens for each member of the group (you included), amounting to a gain of 9 tokens for the entire group.

Gain

Your gain is equal to the sum of the gains of your individual account and the group account.

Example 1

You put 16 tokens in the collective account and thus 4 tokens in your individual account (put there automatically). Let us suppose that the two other members of your group put a total of 24 tokens in the collective account. In total, the collective account now comprises of 24 + 16 = 40 tokens. Your gain is then equal to 4 (individual account) + 40 x 0.5(collective account) - 4 (deduction) = 20 tokens.

Example 2

You put 20 tokens in the collective account and thus 0 tokens in your individual account. Let us suppose that the two other members of your group put a total of 22 tokens in the collective account. In total, the collective account now comprises of 22 + 20 = 42 tokens. Your gain is then equal to 0 (individual account) + 42 x 0.5(collective account) - 0 (deduction) = 21 tokens.

Final Details

All of the members of your group (you included) will make their decisions simultaneously. You do not know the number of tokens your group members placed into the group account.

No deduction is made if all of your tokens are placed in the collective account, no matter the decisions made by the other two group members as shown in example 2.
